I was rec'ing this to someone else right now in comments to another post and realized I should share.

It's Randy Harrison (Justin Taylor, Queer as Folk, y'know, remember THAT obsession? I MISS THAT SHOW) singing Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" (at Joe's Pub for Our Hit Parade) WHILE PLAYING THE XYLOPHONE. The other important part is that around 3:45 he starts to medley in "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "I Will Always Love You".

There's another version of this vid that I saw on my flist earlier, but this one's pretty much up ALL Randy up close. I'm not even flocking this because any random passerby should be lucky to see it.

Also, I got mistaken for being 22-23 by a cute (not my type, I'm not his, we were having platonic money/student loans woes conversation) 23 year old. The moral? MOISTURIZE WELL.

ETA: catching up on backlogged CSI: Miami eps and BOOM! surprise!Peter Paige. Okay Gale Harold time to make a non-Desperate Housewives appearance on TV, 'kay thanks.

ETA2: Same ep, surprise!Kelly Rowan. Mrs. Cohen from The O.C. holla!
Mood:: 'amused' amused

WHAT is that boy wearing?

(also thank you for sharing. Randy Harrison in a tunic takes the edge off a Monday.)

It's, um, half an alter boy outfit. In the other vid I saw, it's inda hard to tell but the other guy on stage appears to be dressed as a priest. The cabaret act is supposedly quite racy and not at all P.C.

I thought that was what I was seeing, but I JUST WASN'T SURE. I'm glad I'm not crazy.

It's half an alter boy outfit and the guy off stage playing guitar is dressed as a priest (other version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPVRm5hAqOA). It's a naughty, naughty, racy, tongue in cheek cabaret act that he was a part of. From what I've been reading his was one of the more TONED DOWN performances.

I loved that show. So much. It was my second fandom and such a... calm fandom.

Well, I..... *pause* It's good that it was, uh, toned down then.

It was .... calm, I remember it briefly, good times.

Yeah. Alter boy/priest set to Kelly Clarkson? OH RANDY ♥.

I think what helped in that fandom was that the homosexuality was canon so there was no fighting about slash. The biggest uproars were between the Brian/Justin 'shippers and the Brian/Michael 'shippers and most people just went to there respective corners on that. And EVERYONE agreed that the producers were INSANE and that the show was CRACK so that helped. Not to say it was wank-free, but by comparison to every other fandom it was pretty close.

INDEED &hearts

That's one of the things I think too. That helped because seriously that was about the only wank in that fandom that I remember and even then it wasn't that big or loud. Granted, like you said, every fandom has wank, but, uhm, yeah.

That is the most AMAZING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN A;LGJARHG;OALGJE;rhf;oj

Oh, Randy, every concert/performance/walk down the street should include a xylophone solo. ♥

I KNOW.

Randy needs a daily checklist: wallet? check. shoes? check. scarf? check. XYLOPHONE? CHECKITY CHECK.

I'm so glad to see him not taking himself so seriously anymore.

He seems to really want to burn the world down less. It's good.

When he's not wanting to burn down the world he's so freaking adorable I could just die. Of course, that may be part of why he wants to burn down the world.

Did Gale ever recover from his motorcycle accident?

Exactly.

Yeah. I saw pics somewhere of him at Elton John's Oscar party last month so he's up and about and apparently doing quite well. :)

First: He's got a nice voice.

Second: Why is he wearing a surplice? Why is a surplice ALL he is wearing?

Third: Why is he singing?

Fourth: Why is he playing xylophone?

Fifth: WHY?

He's wearing his top half of an alter boy outfit and and the guy off stage playing guitar is dressed as a priest. I KNOW.

It was for a naughty, racy, Non-P.C., tongue in cheek cabaret act that he was a part of called Our Hit Parade (throwback from the 50s-60s Your Hit Parade); the theme is performers doing cabaret acts while covering sorta top 40 songs. From what I've been reading his was one of the least scandalous performances.

He's playing the xylophone because HE'S AWESOME LIKE THAT.

I'm glad you answered my question WHAT IS HE WEARING already so I don't have to bother you about that. :-)

Very funny.

You are gorgeous so not surprised on the mistake about your age.

That vid was definitely my happy place.

Thank you! I'm just glad I've got good genes and started a good moiturizing routine back in my early twenties. ;)
